Summer Swells: “Aspects of Summer,” a show exploring “the true essence of summer: from the robustness and fullness of color in nature, to the growth of gardens at their peak, and the rippling water of the ocean,” is at the Long Beach Island Foundation of the Arts and Sciences through Aug. 20. It includes work in abstract and contemporary realism.
The annual Dart for Art fundraising event at LBIF is Saturday, Aug. 11, from 6 to 8 p.m. It’s an evening of art, wine and hors d’oeuvres. Tickets of $100 per individual, $150 per couple entitle the holder to “dart” for one piece of donated artwork. Tickets are available at the door.
